football club have asked their fans to help pay a £850 fine - despite charging £420 for a season ticket.King's Lynn Town, a member of the National League, were punished for their players' actions after a stoppage time penalty was given against them in a game last month. They protested the referee's decision which saw a vital point slip from their grasp in their relegation battle, and they're now 12 points adrift of safety. The club's fans have not been getting their money's worth this season, as they are charged more than any others in the fifth tier of English football.Despite that, owner Stephen Cleeve has called on them to dig deep into their pockets again. He tweeted this week: "The club were fined an additional £850 today for surrounding the referee Lloyd Wood against Southend United even though it lasted less than 8 seconds. "Many of you have asked to help so if you want to donate £5 to help or multiples of, use this link.
Thanks."Cleeve later added: "The money will go towards Tommy’s and the club’s fine - whilst the FA agree it was not a penalty, Mr Lloyd Wood decided to report the club and Tommy. Should non-league clubs get more financial help?
