Police have arrested nine people under the Terrorism Act after a probe into the New IRA. Officers apprehended seven men and two women, all aged between 26 and 50, in the operation on Tuesday.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland launched the operation alongside the Irish Garda, with searches carried out in Dublin, Laois, Cork and Kerry.
The nine arrested individuals are currently being questioned at a Belfast police station on suspicion of a 'wide range of terrorist activity'.
Crime Operations Assistant Chief Constable Barbara Gray said: "I can confirm that nine people were arrested on Tuesday under the Terrorism Act in connection with an ongoing investigation into the activities of the New IRA.
