Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly set to compete for the signature of Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain.
Higuain has been surplus to requirements with the Italian giants since the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo in 2018. The 32-year-old endured a forgettable spell with Chelsea in the 2018/19 season, scoring five goals in 18 appearances while on loan from Juventus.
But the Argentinian is set to be offered a second chance to prove himself in the Premier League. Newcastle are searching for marquee signings to accompany their proposed £300million Saudi takeover, according to the Sunday Express, and Higuain fits the bill.
