The vastly experienced shot-stopper has put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal with Wanderers. Gilks was snapped up last summer and went on to play 35 times for the club as Ian Evatt's side secured automatic promotion to League One.
The ex-Blackpool, Rangers and Scotland international has also worked as the club's goalkeeping coach alongside his playing duties.
He joins defender Harry Brockbank, Gethin Jones, Alex Baptiste, Andrew Tutte and Lloyd Isgrove in signing a new deal this summer, to go with the additions of Josh Sheehan, Dapo Afolayan
