Ellise Shafer editorSpaceX successfully sent four astronauts on a six-month journey to the International Space Station on Sunday night, in the company’s second crewed mission for NASA.After the mission was delayed yesterday due to poor weather, a Crew Dragon spacecraft called “Resilience” launched from Cape Canaveral, Fla., on top of a Falcon 9 rocket at 7:27 p.m. ET.The crew consisted of NASA astronauts Victor Glover, Mike Hopkins and Shannon Walker, as well as Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency’s Soichi Noguchi.

NASA is set for the first operational SpaceX Crew Dragon launch, marking an important milestone for the space program. The launch, which was pushed back from Saturday on account of weather, is scheduled for 7:27 p.m.

Florida officials expect as many as 250,000 "daytrippers" to flock to the Kennedy Space Center to witness the historic SpaceX launch on Saturday, according to reports.  The first commercial fully-crewed spaceflight to the International Space Station (ISS) is scheduled to launch from Launch Complex 39A, which was built as part of the Apollo program.
