New discoveries from the Hubble Space Telescope have changed the scientific view on the age of the universe, NASA has confirmed.
Despite launching 30 years ago in 1990, the instrument is still unlocking the mysteries of how the world was formed. Hubble allows astronomers to view the universe back to within 500 million years of the big bang through deep imaging processes.
Now NASA say the first stars and galaxies in the early universe came into being sooner than previously thought – paving the way for further investigations about what happened after the Big Bang.
