NASA astronaut shares final meal on Earth before SpaceX rocket lift-off tonight

A NASA pilot at the helm of SpaceX's maiden voyage has shared his last Earthly meal before take-off with his Twitter followers.

Doug Hurley opted for a high-protein meal of steak and eggs for his last meal before getting ready to blast off from Cape Canaveral, Florida, at 8.33pm UK time. "Question answered" he tweeted, alongside an image of a large sliced steak and two fried eggs, with a parsley garnish, sitting on NASA-branded plate.

The spaceman's post prompted some cheeky replies, with one man commenting that his steak looked "overcooked". Another joked: "Hope for your traveling companions sake that those SpaceX suits filter… noxious fumes well." Someone else reckoned NASA chefs could do better. "That steak looks really sad.
