Queen’s Jubilee year are being urged: “Make sure you’ve got nothing on that day.” And while many fans of the Royal Family will be dressing up to mark 70 years of Her Majesty’s rule, nudists will be undressing for a specially commissioned cruise on the Thames.
The “members-only” naked buffet and booze cruise, taking place during the weekend of celebration for the Queen in June, is being organised by the British Naturism group.
The organisation says it exists to unite and support naturists and to make social nudity acceptable in the UK.Dubbed the “ultimate jubilee weekend naked event”, participants will board an original Thames sailing barge before stripping off and setting sail.An advert, posted online, promises “a relaxing and naked buffet lunch followed by a two-hour naked sail with a fully licensed and well-stocked bar.” The trip will set off from Maldon in Essex and will set British Naturism members back £55.A spokesman for NudistUK, a neighbouring group who support naturism, said: “This sounds like an excellent day out. “It is a private event, for people who enjoy being their naked authentic selves and is a chance for people to pay homage to our long-serving Queen.” Nudist UKdescribes itself online as serving "freedom loving naturists who genuinely enjoy the nudist lifestyle".
