Murder Island aired its first episode on Tuesday night as eight members of the public attempted to solve a fictional murder case, created by Ian Rankin, in a bid to win a £50,000 reward.
During the opening instalment, show watchers and contestants discovered that a woman, Charly Hendricks, had been killed while they were given instructions to follow by top murder detectives.
At the start of the episode, a narrator also provided a voiceover as they revealed that they were in fact the fictional dead victim Charly.
