A murder investigation has been launched after a man in his 30s was stabbed in a residential street in Dingle, Liverpool. Officers believe the attack was 'targeted' and a police cordon remains in place while forensic investigators make enquiries.
Emergency services were called to the scene at about 4.30pm today after reports a man had sustained a stab wound to his chest, reports The Liverpool Echo.
An air ambulance helicopter landed on a patch of grass near the Baltic Market this afternoon, and is believed to have been deployed in relation to the stabbing.
The victim was taken to hospital but later pronounced dead. A man in his 20s has been detained and will be taken for questioning.
