Mark Allen, 18, who dreamed of becoming a professional actor, tragically drowned after jumping into Debdale Reservoir Gorton in a bid to cool off in June 2018.
His devastated mum Leeanne Bartley, 43, has since become a staunch water safety advocate and was part of a group that successfully lobbied for throwlines to be installed at a number of reservoirs in Greater Manchester, including three at the spot where Mark lost his life.
