Motherwell assistant boss Stephen Frail says the club’s summer signing spree has him excited for the season ahead. The Steelmen have taken the number of new recruits to 10 after goalkeeper Krisztian Heyyi and defenders Steve Sneddon and Liam Gordon, the former St Johnstone captain, signed up in the last week.
They follow Kofi Balmer, Tom Sparrow, Johnny Koutroumbis, Ross Callachan, Zach Robinson, Filip Stuparevic and Sam Nicholson in the door.Frail says being that organised has made a huge difference from last summer, and reckons there’s grounds for excitement. He said: “It’s not a full make-over, but it looks like it with 10 signings, but what I think it has done to the ones that are here is reassure them.
They’ll possibly think ‘where are we going, we’ve lost the quality of Liam Kelly, Blair Spittal, Bevis Mugabi, guys like that, and the two loan players in Jack Vale and Georgie Gent’, but we’ve strengthened.“We look in a really healthy place just now, where we are in pre-season, and hopefully that can continue.
We were a wee bit late last year in our preparation. This year we’ve managed to get it organised earlier. We’ve brought in 10 players and that makes a big difference.
