A gran from Motherwell decided to organise a family festival so local children could enjoy a fantastic fun day during the summer holidays.Lynn Mcfarlane, 55, a mum of three grown-up children.
decided that as there hadn’t been a gala day in the community for over 30 years she would organise an event in North Motherwell that would provide great memories for youngsters for years to come.The North Fest Family Day was the culmination of a lot of hard work by Lynn and her team who set up a GoFundMe page which had great support from local businesses, raising £7000.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

There’s nothing exciting taking place in the community for kids in the summer now.“Our fundraising made this event free to the kids so that no child missed out.”Lynn had organise smaller event before but nothing of this scale.She continued: “It’s been a steep learning curve for the future.
