Rishi Sunak reportedly travelled 240 miles from London just 24 hours before Boris Johnson put the capital in Tier 4. The Chancellor has been absent from the Commons and in public briefings in recent days, with Labour branding him a "missing person".
Tory Mr Sunak quit the capital for his constituency of Richmond, Yorkshire, on Friday, The Sun reports. The following day his boss announced that people were not allowed to leave Tier 4 areas unless they had a legitimate reason.
He is facing calls for more support for those affected by coronavirus restrictions. Mock posters produced by Labour show a picture of the Chancellor alongside the words: "Where's Rishi?
