Reports suggest a Saudi Arabian consortium led by Amanda Staveley are on the verge of relieving Magpies fans of Ashley’s wretched ownership, with the unpopular British tycoon accepting a £300m offer to sell the club.
Staveley and her partners, the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia and the Reuben brothers, are now awaiting Premier League approval in order to seal the deal.
