Newcastle boss Steve Bruce is being snubbed by both owner Mike Ashley and those fronting the £300m takeover bid at St James' Park.
A fortnight after news broke that financier Amanda Staveley's PCP partnership, backed by the Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, agreed a deal in principle and had lodged documents with Companies House, Bruce has not heard from either party.
Ashley, who has yet to break his silence on the imminent sale, flew into the UK from his Florida hideaway three days ago. He last met Bruce face to face in January when the pair got on well.
