Philippe Coutinho would be prepared to join Newcastle if Mauricio Pochettino becomes their new manager, according to reports in Spain.
The Tyneside club are on the verge of completing a £300m takeover, with Mike Ashley accepting a non-refundable £17m deposit from a consortium led by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund at the end of April.
All that is required for the full sale to go through is Premier League approval, which would finally relieve Magpies fans of Ashley’s unpopular ownership and signal the beginning of a new lucrative era at St James’ Park.
Ahead of the takeover, Newcastle are already being linked with a number of stellar names - including former Tottenham boss Pochettino.
