A hotel that has been chosen by the Home Office to house asylum seekers has sparked a fiery debate among some locals. The Bell in Epping Forest - an area north east of London associated with popular TV series The Only Way is Essex - is a 16th century coaching house turned into a mid-range hotel.
It was recently chosen by the Home Office as one of 20 places in the country where asylum seekers would be accommodated while their applications are assessed.
Despite the set up being temporary, a councillor for nationalist party For Britain, Julian Leppert, has used the asylum seeker's presence to stoke up tensions.
Cllr Leppert answered in the affirmative when The Guardian asked him if he wanted Epping to become a 'whites-only enclave'. The
