Manchester City players were far from convinced that Fernandinho would be a success at the club after his arrival, Micah Richards has revealed.
Joining the club from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013, Fernandinho has gone on to be a key player in City's progression in the following eight years, captaining them to their most recent Premier League title as one of 13 trophies won in sky blue.
However, Fernandinho arrived with a slight illness, and that meant his early training sessions were well off the pace, according to former teammate Richards.
