Met Office have warned that "wintry showers" and "snow" are returning to the UK later this month as the country is battered by an Arctic weather front.
It comes after the country was ravaged by a number of storms in just two weeks, with more chaotic weather now set to come. As part of their long range forecast spanning from Sunday March 6 to Tuesday March 15, the Met Office warn: "It will likely be initially, largely dry with some wintry showers possible, as we move through the period there will be an increasing likelihood of spells of rain, potentially preceded by snow, arriving from the west."Although this Sunday should be "a dry day for many areas, though cloudier with patchy rain in the south and west", they add that a "few wintry showers are likely [to follow] in the east".
Towards mid-March, they explain: "Winds will likely strengthen through midweek with an increasing likelihood of coastal gales. "Rather cool or even cold across much of the UK, but temperatures may begin to recover to nearer normal from the west later in the period."The Met Office aren't the only forecaster warning of snow coming soon.
According to advanced weather modelling maps from WX Charts, Thursday March 10 and Friday March 11 will see particularly heavy flurries across most of the UK.
