Met Office issues yellow warnings as ferocious 70mph winds and heavy rain blasts through

The Met Office has issued three yellow warnings for wind and rain and has further alerted three flood warnings across the country.They predict an "energetic weather pattern" will bring wet weather and storm like conditions.Some colder north-westerly blasts are likely to bring wintry showers to western and northern areas, interwoven with belts of rain moving from west to east and potential for strong winds early in the week.WXCharts has stated that there could be up to 5.5mm of rain taking charge over some regions at the start of the week.Forecasters have raised that conditions will continue to worsen before the arrival of 18C temperatures.The downpour is predicted to be the heaviest in the South West of England, while 70mph gales will swoop down the west coast of Britain.The Met Office chief meteorologist Neil Armstrong said: "An energetic, mobile weather pattern is driving successive low-pressure systems across the Atlantic over the coming days.'With high pressure to the east of the UK these systems stall and weaken as they reach us and bring spells of rain and wind together with milder air."At this time no National Severe Weather warnings have been issued." On Sunday, a yellow warning is in place for southern regions with risks of some travel disruption.The warning extends to Wales, Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland on Sunday.Looking ahead to next week, people can expect spring-like temperatures, especially in the south.Bad weather will clear on Monday when "more settled" weather conditions are expected to return.
