Mauricio Pochettino will reportedly make signing Harry Kane his ‘main objective’ if he is named the new Newcastle manager. It is being reported in some media outlets that the Argentine is close to agreeing to replace Steve Bruce at St James’ Park should the £300million takeover of the club be confirmed.
Current owner Mike Ashley agreed to sell the club to the Saudi-backed PCP Capital Partners last month. Pochettino has been out of work since being sacked by Tottenham last year after five-and-a-half years at the helm.
According to Spanish publication Todofichajes though, he is edging closer to becoming the Magpies manager, with an agreement between himself and the club “practically closed”.
