Married At First Sight Australia star Al Perkins has reportedly ditched the altar and opted for the sunny villa, joining the cast of Love Island Australia 2022.Al first burst onto our screens for season nine of Married At First Sight Australia, where he was partnered with Samantha Moitzi, but the couple called it quits during one of the MAFS commitment ceremonies, with Samantha believing they'd be better off as friends.He tried one last attempt to make Samantha fall for him, but when that failed he came to terms with their new friendship, having learned loads about himself from the experiment.READ MORE: Married At First Sight UK fans confused as George fuels the fire in April 'kiss gate'Ready for a new spin at love, a source close to Al has confirmed he'll be appearing in the Australian version of the hit dating show Love Island.Before the news broke, fans had spotted that Al's Instagram page had been near enough abandoned, with no posts or activity since August 23.The villa this year is set to be in Majorca, much like the UK version, moving away from its season two home in Fiji and its home during Covid, Down Under in Byron Bay.Adding star power to the upcoming series, Al was reportedly paid a four-figure sum to appear on Love Island, despite saying he'd be happy to do it for free.Daily Mail Australia confirmed the 26 year old's appearance fee, saying: "'Al was able to secure a one-off four-figure sum to add that star-power to the show."He was desperate to get on and said yes the second he was offered.
