Man airlifted to hospital after plunging 40 feet on remote Scots mountain

Paramedics were forced to scale the mountain to reach the casualty after the helicopter landed nearby. A coastguard helicopter also raced to the mountain from Prestwick and rushed the man to hospital.

Pictures from the rescue show the helicopters hovering above the remote location surrounded by hills.The extent of the man's injuries are currently unknown.

In a statement, Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance said: "SCAA was first on the scene when a walker fell 40 feet down a boulder field at #BenVorlich.
