Paul Gill, 51, was spared an immediate prison sentence at Minshull Street Crown Court on Tuesday after admitting causing grievous bodily harm to 55-year-old Billy Crawford.

The court heard his moment of anger caused his victim 'catastrophic' injuries from which he will never recover.
