Madeline Kenney wrote her upcoming album A New Reality Mind, after a breakup, but the singles she's released so far don't linger on the gory details. "Superficial Conversation," which we named a Song You Need, focuses on finding peace in the aftermath, and now "I Drew A Line" continues to explore the same uncharted emotional territory. "When I went through a breakup I realized that the story I had been living out was much different in the plain light of day than what I had constructed out of fantasy," Kenney says in a press release.
That journey into the unknown is mirrored by the song's production: saxophones and a retro sci-fi polyrhythmic bounce that instantly brings to mind FADER fave Kate NV.
