Yewande Biala has revealed the impact that colourism had on her while growing up and recalls having ‘feelings of hatred’ towards her skin. The Love Island star has weighed into the controversy surrounding Rochelle Humes’ new documentary, where she was accused of replacing Candice Brathwaite, a dark-skinned presenter.
Rochelle will host a Channel 4 documentary exploring the issue of Black women suffering higher mortality rates during childbirth compared to white mothers.
It later emerged that Candice and Rochelle were approached by two production companies working on different films but still raised the issue of colourism.
