In its third weekend on release “GOTG 3” earned $3.04 million, a 48% week-on-week decline, giving it a cumulative of $26.9 million after 19 days on release in Korea. That is the fourth highest total for any film that has played in Korean cinemas this year.

Panorama Studios is backed by producer Kumar Mangat Pathak, while Anthology Studios is founded by former Warner Bros. local Korean production head, Choi Jae-won (aka Jay Choi), “Parasite” actor Song Kang-ho and acclaimed director Kim Jee-woon. The trio previously worked together on 2016 film “The Age of Shadows.” Anthology’s “Cobweb,” directed by Kim, produced by Choi and starring Song, is premiering out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival on May 25. The two studios will join hands for the Korean remake of the Drishyam franchise. The announcement was made at the India Pavilion in Cannes on Sunday by the two studios with Pathak and Choi present.

Memorialized by Anna Cathcart in the 2018 film version of the book — which spawned two sequels and launched the careers of Lana Condor and Noah Centineo, who played the leads — Kitty often serves as the comic relief, offsetting Lara Jean’s careful romantic idealism. But in spinoff series “XO, Kitty,” which premiered on the streaming service on Thursday, the little sister becomes the star, and Cathcart steps into the spotlight.

Stray Kids member Bang Chan has posted an apology for remarks he made during a recent livestream.Earlier this week, during the K-pop idol’s weekly livestream, called Chan’s Room, the musician spoke about his experience about the Music Bank in Paris event, which was held in early April.During the live broadcast, Bang Chan touched on generational differences in greeting etiquette (in Korean culture, a person who’s younger or lower in position bows to someone older or higher in position) and his thoughts on the subject.“Because generations are different, and I know that as well. But I feel like it’s come to the point where greeting someone is not considered as basic manners,” Bang Chan said, per Soompi.“That was one of the things I remembered from Music Bank in Paris,” he added.

The reality competition version of Squid Game is coming later this year.
