‘Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F’ review: Eddie Murphy returns in pointless sequel
2021’s “Coming 2 America,” the misguided sequel to “Coming To America,” it’s understandable that viewers approach Eddie Murphy’s new “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” with some trepidation.Unfortunately, they’re right to.Netflix has, once again, gotten its greedy hands on a cherished title, tossed in some celebs and lazily devalued it into an algorithmic afterthought.Everything uniquely special and hilarious about the 1984 fish-out-of-water hit is gone, replaced by commodity streaming mush that looks like every other ho-hum action-comedy right now.Another mediocre nostalgia grab.More and more I ask, though: How nostalgic is it, really, to see our favorite characters return worn out and weary in forgettable films? Who does that make feel good? Not me!Problem No. 1 is that Detroit police officer Axel Foley (Murphy) hasn’t changed enough since 1994’s dismal “Beverly Hills Cop III.”The only substantive difference is that he has an estranged adult daughter named Jane (Taylour Paige), a defense attorney in Beverly Hills, who gets into a dicey situation with a drug cartel. That’s why he leaves Michigan for the luxe California enclave, where director Mark Molloy stages overly wacky chase scenes (a helicopter flying in traffic) and beats tired gags to death.Axel desperately needed some new shtick.

Watch Eminem take a chainsaw to his alter ego Slim Shady in grisly video for new single ‘Tobey’
Eminem has shared a grisly new video for his recent single ‘Tobey’, featuring Babytron and Big Sean. The clip, which you can view below, sees all three rappers digitally duplicated and interacting with their doubles as the camera roams through a variety of settings, including a warehouse, hotel room, and club. When the song switches to Eminem’s verse, the scene switches to a blood spattered basement where a figure in a Jason Voorhees hockey mask takes a chainsaw to the rapper before he removes his mask to reveal that he is also Eminem, thus killing off his Slim Shady alter ego as the title of his new album ‘The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)‘ suggests. The song his second from his 12th studio album, which is due to be released this Friday (July 12) following his comeback single ‘Houdini‘.It sees the rapper reference superhero Spider-Man actor Tobey Maguire who portrayed the comic book character in the film adaptations in the noughties. “Tobey Maguire got bit by a spider, but see, me, it was a goat” he raps before adding: “Way beyond crazy, Shady gone, but hey, maybe, I am the GOAT/With Big Sean and BabyTron, and that’s why they be on the shit they be on.”The single’s cover art also features Eminem with fellow Detroit rapper Big Sean and Babytron recreating the viral three Spider-Men pointing at each other meme. The single, which was previously shared last week, is Eminem’s first collaboration with BabyTron and his fourth with Big Sean – they’ve worked together on the tracks ‘No Favors’, ‘Friday Night Cypher’ and ‘Detroit Vs.

Fyre Festival founder Billy McFarland is connecting Donald Trump with rappers for his presidential campaign
Donald Trump with his presidential campaign.Though he has no formal role in the campaign, McFarland has reportedly been part of Trump’s effort to appeal to black voters, helping to connect the Republican hopeful with rappers on at least two occasions including a public appearance from Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow at Trump’s recent campaign rally in the Bronx. He also previously arranged a meeting with Detroit rappers Icewear Vezzo and Peezy last month, according to Rolling Stone. It comes after McFarland recently shared a picture of himself with the former US president on his Instagram page with the caption: “Pres’ birthday featuring your new cabinet.”A post shared by Billy McFarland (@pyrtbilly)Trump has previously been backed by rappers including Kanye West and more recently Snoop Dogg who said earlier this year, he has “nothing but love and respect” for the former president.Despite that, according to a Pew Research survey published in May, 77 per cent of black voters prefer Joe Biden, with only 18 per cent favouring Trump.Elsewhere, pre-sale tickets to Fyre Festival 2 – the second version of the disgraced music festival – previously sold out despite the fact that the festival has no lineup, venue, or dates lined up for the event.First developed by McFarland seven years ago, the botched festival Fyre Fest was originally set to run over two weekends on a private beach in the Bahamas but was revealed to be fraudulent once punters arrived on the scene, with inadequate conditions and a lack of food and water.
