Liverpool 's summer transfer business could be determined by FSG's investments in baseball side Boston Red Sox and their other businesses.
The Reds were heavily linked with a big money move for Timo Werner but opted not to pursue the forward, who eventually joined Chelsea.They have also been linked with Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara but football finance expert Kieran Maguire believes a deal depends on whether or not the club can free up money by selling some players first.
Speaking on the Blood Red podcast, Maguire said: "Liverpool will be looking at exit routes as well as signings. Is the club in negotiations for fringe players to go, which would free up wages and allow them to sign Thiago? "It is a case of wait and see.
