Jurgen Klopp has pleaded for the FA to hand out more medals after Liverpool’s FA Cup final win over Chelsea.The Reds clinched their second trophy of the season on Saturday after beating Chelsea 6-5 on penalties at Wembley Stadium.
But Liverpool manager Klopp revealed there was an issue with the number of medals his players received after their win.The German used a staggering 31 players over the course of the competition.
That meant certain stars like Takumi Minamino, Harvey Elliott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and the injured Fabinho played a role in earlier rounds but did not make the bench at Wembley.Klopp spoke of his side’s success in their quadruple-hunt being down to their enormous depth, but noted that it meant some of Liverpool’s stars missed out on their rewards.
And the manager went on to demand that the FA ends its restriction on the number of medals issued at the end of competitions.He said: “Dear FA, please send some more medals.
