Liam and Noel Gallagher could soon be reunited on stage – in virtual reality.The pair have barely spoken since Oasis spilt in 2009 when they had a bust-up before a gig in France.But ABBA stars Bjorn Ulvaeus, 77, and Benny Andersson, 75, let slip the Manchester band could be next to follow in their footsteps with a tour using avatars of themselves, inset, instead of appearing live.Asked at the weekend if any other bands had got in touch to find our more about it, Bjorn said: “Lots of artists are going to be studying us, definitely.“I won’t name names, but I can think of a few.”When pressed on whether virtual gigs could work with bands which have split up, both Benny and Bjorn replied: “Oasis.”But they refused to comment further.
Despite constant rumours that the band are getting back together, the brothers still don’t mince words about each other, with Liam, 49, calling Noel, 54, a ‘d**k’ and a “p***k”.
Not to be outdone, Noel claimed his sibling is the “angriest man”’ in the world and a “pain in the ass”.Later this month, the ABBA Voyage concerts begin at London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, starring the Swedish band as visual avatars – called ABBAtars, inset – as they were in 1977.ABBA Voyage runs from May 27 to December 5 and is costing around £15million to put on.Meanwhile, Liam has revealed that he needs a double hip replacement and has been forced to give up running.He told MoJo magazine: "My hips are f***ed, I've got arthritis, bad.""I went to get it checked out and my bones are mashed up.
