Leigh's Rugby League World Cup matches revealed

Leigh at next year's Rugby League World Cup have now been revealed. The town is set to host three group games at the much-anticipated competition.The first will be on Wednesday, October 27, when Wales will take on the Cook Islands at Leigh Sports Village.

Last month, it was announced that the town would be the base for the Lebanon national team. The Cedars will also play two of their matches in the town.They take on Ireland at Leigh Sports Village on October 31 before going head-to-head with Jamaica on November 7.Leader of Wigan Council, Councillor David Molyneux, said: "We're absolutely thrilled with this line-up and we can’t wait to give the teams a warm welcome when they arrive next year.
