mountain rescuers has warned of the danger of quick changing conditions after a volunteer was paralysed rescuing covid rule breakers in Cumbria earlier this month.Chris Lewis, from the Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team in the Lake District, suffered life-changing injuries during a rescue on February 6.The 60-year-old fell 150m rescuing two campers - damaging his spinal cord and suffering multiple face fractures.Kev Mitchell, vice chair of Scottish Mountain Rescue sent his thoughts to Chris and his loved ones as he urged walkers to be prepared.Speaking to BBC's Good Morning Scotland, Kev said: "We train very hard to try to minimise the possibilities of any team members getting injured."Touch wood, thankfully you’re right, it is a very rare.
