Older people in Rutherglen and Cambuslang who are self-isolating can take advantage of a new lifeline service offered by a charity’s volunteer personal shoppers.

In the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, Cambuslang -based LEAP has launched a free delivery service for older adults who are self-isolating and have no-one to turn to for support.

The delivery service is available free to residents in most areas of South Lanarkshire who are self-isolating and are: aged 50 to 70 with underlying health conditions; are aged 70 plus with or without underlying health conditions and do not have support from friends and family at this time.Eligible people who want to use the service for shopping for essential items, power card or mobile phone top-ups or
