Fears for the future of golf courses in South Lanarkshire have been allayed by the council.Concerned residents have contacted South Lanarkshire Council over the lack of maintenance for the region's six courses during the lockdown, work they claim could be done under existing social distancing guidelines.Claims the courses could fold in the next two weeks if urgent action wasn't taken were dismissed by the council.David Gebbie, who lives adjacent to the council's course at Strathclyde Park contacted the Local Democracy Reporting Service with his concerns.He said: "Perhaps I’m wrong in my analysis, but green keeping or grounds maintenance isn’t a prohibited activity, and it’s not something one can do at home."It does strike me however, as one
