More than 3500 drivers were caught speeding on South Lanarkshire’s roads by safety camera’s last year.Figures released under Freedom of Information laws revealed 3580 drivers were driving over the speed limit in 2018-19 – with one caught driving over 100mph.In 2017-18, just 1395 drivers were found to be speeding by the area’s safety camera schemes.However, the vast majority of those caught last year (2,874) were picked up by Rutherglen’s new average speed cameras on the A703 Mill Street.The highest speed recorded by a speed camera in 2018-19 was 101mph on the A73 near Thankerton.On Hillhouse Road in Hamilton, one driver was driving at 90mph, the highest recorded in 2017-18.In 2017-18, just one driver was caught driving over 85mph by a
