European football leagues have lost more than €4billion (£3.52m) between them due to the coronavirus crisis. Financial experts have revealed the financial damage that has been done by the pandemic that has seen all top level football suspended until further notice.

Thousands of games, competitions and professional leagues have been cancelled or postponed, leading to empty stadiums and dozens of clubs facing financial meltdown.

Earlier this month Uefa suspended both the Champions League and Europa League with 40 matches remaining, while Euro 2020 was also put back until next summer.

The suspension of games due to coronavirus is expected to result in losses of €4.1bn, according to data gathered by financial experts LearnBonds.
