Keir Starmer may have taken on a fight that he cannot win today as he joined those calling for the next James Bond to be a woman.
As Daniel Craig bows out of playing the British secret agent in No Time To Die, there have been calls for him to be replaced by a female lead.
And appearing on Good Morning Britain today, the Opposition Leader joined them, saying: 'I don't have a favourite Bond, but I do think it's time for a female Bond. 'If it were to happen it would be a huge change for a film series in which the titular character's masculinity plays a central role.
Thus far woman have, with some notable exceptions. been reduced to supporting roles as love conquests or femme fatales - and sometimes both.
