La Liga has issued a statement as five players have tested positive for coronavirus. Spanish football are implementing a five-step plan as they look to resume normal service.

11 games remain for each club in the top flight, and will be played over a seven-week period if football gets the go ahead in over a month's time.

But the Spanish football organisation has confirmed that five players have picked up Covid-19. A statement read: “Between the clubs of [the first and second divisions], five positive cases have been detected among players, all of them asymptomatic and in the final stage of the illness. “Players who have tested positive will remain in isolation at home and be tested again over the coming days.
