West Ham defender was the subject of an investigation from the RSPCA after a video emerged of him allegedly kicking and slapping one of his pet cats.

The cat was seized by the RSPCA, and it has remained with them throughout the investigation.Zouma has been accused of two counts of causing "unnecessary suffering" to the cat and one count of failing to protect the cat from "pain suffering, injury or disease".While his brother, who allegedly filmed the video of the 27-year-old, stands accused of two counts of "aiding, abetting, counselling or procuring" unnecessary suffering to the cat.Zouma has continued to feature for West Ham throughout the investigation, while his brother Yoan remains suspended from National League side Dagenham & Redbridge.Kurt Zouma issued an apology following the incident, saying: “I want to apologise for my actions.

There are no excuses for my behaviour, which I sincerely regret.“I also want to say how deeply sorry I am to anyone who was upset by the video.

I would like to assure everyone that our two cats are perfectly fine and healthy."While his brother, after the video emerged, said: "I deeply regret my involvement in the video that has been widely circulated and unreservedly apologise, not only for my actions, but for the upset and distress this will have caused to so many people.".
