North Korea Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un has reportedly died following botched heart surgery. Hong Kong-backed news channel HKSTV's vice director Qing Feng, who's apparently the niece of a former Chinese foreign minister, posted the news on Chinese messaging app Weibo.

The Asian country is notoriously secretive, so his exact condition still remains a mystery and is so far unconfirmed. If he is indeed dead, though, it is likely we will get an official statement on Monday, April 27.

The last time North Korea state media announced the passing of their leader, it was more than 48 hours after the death. The death of Kim Jong-un's dad, Kim Jong-il, may provide some clues as to exactly how it will be announced if the dictator has indeed passed away.
