Kate Middleton picked out a 'unique' pair of earrings to send a subtle message to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, a royal expert has claimed. The claim followed an intriguing choice of accessory by the Duchess of Cambridge for a video call on International Women's Day, a date which celebrates the achievements of women around the world. She marked the occasion back in March 2021 by putting on a pair of rhodochrosite stone earrings from her sister-in-law's favourite brand, the London-based jewellers Missoma, reports the Daily Mail. The mum-of-three was seen speaking with 21-year-old rower Jasmine Harrison with the jewellery clearly visible.Commentator Harriet Johnston suggested that Kate had memorised the product description on the firm's website before choosing to wear them, which says they are "a heart-based healing crystal that radiates love, compassion and all-around good vibes".This is because Meghan had appeared in the bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview only a few days earlier, where she accused Kate of making her cry before her wedding day in 2018 during a disagreement about flower dresses. Her claim contradicted an earlier leaked story, which said that Meghan had made Kate cry instead.

Royal experts have since said that the disagreement, previously not commented on by either of the pair, likely made both of them upset. For the latest breaking news and stories from across the globe from the Daily Star, sign up for our newsletter by clicking here.At the time Kate wore them, the pair of earrings bejewelled with rhodochrosite stone were available for £85 online as part of the Missoma's Gemstone collection. The American actress was first photographed wearing jewellery from Missoma in a post on her now inactive Instagram.
