Vice President Kamala Harris is making history. President Joe Biden will be undergoing a routine colonoscopy on Friday (November 19) requiring him to go under anesthesia, CNN reported.
As a result, presidential power will temporarily transfer to the Vice President, the White House press secretary Jen Psaki confirmed.
This will mark the country’s first female, first Black and first South Asian president, even if temporarily. According to the report, she will be working from her office in the West Wing while he is undergoing the procedure. Joe Biden turns 79 on Saturday (November 20), and arrived at Walter Reed Medical Center one day before to undergo his first routine annual physical since taking office.
