Philippe Coutinho's future is as uncertain now as it was at the end of last season. Back then, the summer transfer window had just opened and it had become clear to everyone that the Brazilian was no longer considered the golden boy at Barcelona, despite the fact that 18 months earlier the club had paid out £142million for his services.
Coutinho was made available for loan by Barcelona, and two Premier League clubs were at the front of the queue to bring the midfielder in on a temporary basis.
The first of these was Liverpool. The Reds were the side that Coutinho to Barcelona, and boss Jurgen Klopp has a brilliant working relationship with the 27-year-old.
