Jose Mourinho’s goalkeeping coach Nuno Santos was allegedly “attacked” by a Bodo/Glimt coach during Roma’s Europe Conference League clash.The Italian giants were defeated at the Aspymrya Stadion for the second time this season, after the minnows came from behind to secure a 2-1 first leg victory in the quarter-finals.
Giallorossi captain Lorenzo Pellegrini gave the Serie A giants the lead in the first half, before goals from Ulrim Saltnes and Hugo Vetlesen confirmed another shock victory over Roma.However, the victory was marred by an “unpleasant” situation which reportedly saw Glimt coach attack Santos, after some initial bickering between the sides in the tunnel.
Roma skipper Pellegrini claimed to have witnessed the extraordinary ordeal after the contest.“Something truly unpleasant just happened,” the captain told Sky Sport Italia, via Football Italia. “Their coach just attacked our goalkeeping trainer."First he said a few things to him, then physically attacked him.
It’s really sad, because behaviour like this is an insult to Roma, to the players and the staff. It is shameful."Sky Sports Italia understand Norwegian police interviewed the Bodo/Glimt coach, Santos and the players who witnessed the bizarre altercation between the two coaches.
