However, the Brazilian was humiliated by his international teammate Vinicius Jr halfway through the second half of his side's 4-3 win in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final at the Etihad Stadium.After being played the ball on the left-wing, Vinicius allowed the ball to roll through his legs – catching Fernandinho off guard and consequently nutmegging the veteran midfielder.
The winger then raced onto the ball and charged down the wing before poking past Ederson.And a goal coming from the silky skill felt somewhat inevitable to Guardiola, as shown by his reaction to his captain being spun.
The Spanish boss was filmed with his head in his hands as Fernandinho was nutmegged, before dropping to his knees as he watched Vinicius race towards goal.Fernandinho was having to play as a makeshift full-back due to Kyle Walker being ruled out with injury and Joao Cancelo being suspended.
