John Christopher Depp II (born June 9, 1963) is an American actor, singer, producer, and musician. He has been nominated for ten Golden Globe Awards, winning one for Best Actor for his performance of the title role in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2008), and has been nominated for three Academy Awards for Best Actor, among other accolades. He is regarded as one of the world's biggest film stars. Depp made his film debut in the 1984 film A Nightmare on Elm Street, before rising to prominence as a teen idol on the television series 21 Jump Street (1987–1990). He had a supporting role in Oliver Stone's 1986 war film Platoon and played the title character in the 1990 romantic fantasy Edward Scissorhands.

Amber Heard tells jurors 'I'm human' as she reveals death threats in Johnny Depp defamation trial

Amber Heard reminded jurors that "I am a human being" as she detailed the effects of Johnny Depp's defamation lawsuit on her life as she gave evidence for the second time.

The Aquaman star claimed to have received "thousands" of death threats since proceedings began while also describing the whole process as "agonising, painful and humiliating".

Mr Depp is suing his former partner over a Washington Post article she wrote in 2018 which his lawyers say falsely implies he was physically and sexually abusive.

Mr Depp denied all accusations. Closing arguments for the 50 million dollar lawsuits are expected to take place on Friday after a six-week trial which saw evidence come from various family members, friends, colleagues and medical experts.
