John Lewis has confirmed a number of branches will reopen on June 15, following new Government guidelines for "non essential" retailers.
The UK retailer said stores will reopen on a phased basis, that will gradually include all branches across the UK. John Lewis, which trades from 50 stores, did not say how many of its outlets would re-open on June 15. "Our plan sees us open our shops on a phased basis, to enable us to test the changes we are introducing and ensure the best and safest customer and partner (employee) experience," a statement said.
The business said its preparations have been "informed" by social distancing measures at Waitrose supermarkets, which have traded throughout the pandemic.
