John Lewis has announced its plans for a 'phased reopening' next month. The department store has said it is preparing to open its stores after the government said non-essential shops could start trading again from June 15 as part of step two of the easing of lockdown.

However, they didn't give a set date on when the first store will open or which ones will be among the first to make a return to the hight street.

What John Lewis Partnership did say is that its preparations have been "informed" by social distancing measures at its Waitrose supermarkets, which have traded throughout the pandemic.
